This episode focuses on our newest addition to Mom Jeans and Minivans, Auggie! Well, he’s not that new, he’s 10 months old already… where does the time go?!
Where Auggie used to be called “Mr. Chill”, he’s becoming a little too intense to maintain that name. He is strong.. and persistent. Couple those things together and Mr. Chill isn’t chillin’ too much anymore. He’s scaling furniture, climbing stairs, trying to do anything Charlie is doing, is 23lbs and has 4 teeth. We’ve got a picky eater on our hands and one who’s never been much of a great sleeper. He’s a happy little guy though and finds moments to be a gentle, snuggly teddy bear and that’s what is really important. He’s a dare devil, loves things that make sounds like the door stop, throwing anything he can get his hands on and playing chase around the house.
Morgen and Trisha tried their best to keep the focus on Auggie but it somehow always goes back to Charlie & Remi. Sorry little guy, we have a feeling the girl’s might always try to steal the spotlight.

Noooo! Charlie and Remi are transitioning out of their naps!
It took Trisha and Jacen about 2-3 weeks to figure out a new schedule for Remi that had her napping later in the day and for shorter lengths. It has been key to a balanced day and night sleep, resulting in a happier toddler.
Morgen’s struggle is when she misses the sleep window. Any parent who misses the precious window, whether food or sleep, knows that it is a window you never want to miss again.
Listen in as Morgen and Trisha discuss the difference between nightmares and night terrors, the wrath of a sleepy toddler, and the struggle they are dealing with in their new sleep schedules.

Do any other parents out there struggle to balance parenting, childcare, occupations, and just life in general?!? Two hands are raised over here!
This episode focuses on the childcare aspect of parenting and life. Both Morgen and Phil work, add Covid to the mix, and finding childcare for Auggie has posed a real challenge. Morgen speaks about the four different providers she’s had to use in just three months, the avenues she went down to find them, the high price point of childcare, mixed in with someone that meets her criteria. It’s stressful, to say the least!

The holidays are here! Happy holidays to our MJAMV tribe!
Are you ready? I mean, who's ever really prepared, lol.
Morgen and Trisha discuss what the holidays mean to them and their plans for the season. Creating and maintaining traditions is something essential to them both. After their tree cutting, Ms. Claus will leave Charlie and August pajamas, while the reindeer may accidentally leave a bell or two behind. Trisha also cherishes her family tree-cutting experience every year. While the holidays can be hectic, Morgen has set a goal this year to have the house decorated and presents wrapped by the beginning of December so she can enjoy the drive-thru light shows, baking, and holiday cheer stress-free. After the passing of her brother-in-law and Jack getting older, Trisha is finding new ways to create cherished memories.
August is still too little to know what is going on, but with Charlie and Remi being three, they understand a little more about what is happening, which makes seeing the wonder in their eyes so exciting!

Relationships and marriages are hard, add kids to the mix, and the real work begins.
Children have a way of zapping us parents of all our energy. Many times once we've taken care of them and all our responsibilities, we've got none left for each other. Sex or sleep?! These mama's are taking the zzz's these days!
Trisha and Morgen discuss their marital struggles and how difficult it can be to carve out time and energy for Phil and Jacen, apologize in arguments, or find ways to show and express how much love and appreciation they have for them. Phil and Jacen who, you ask?! Exactly our point.

Charlie & Remi are officially 3! Morgen & Trisha dish all about their special days and how their parties went.
Trisha loved the intimate farm excursion and having immediate family over afterward for dinner and her redeeming 7” cake. Remi’s outfit was a total hit with the crown headband and sparkly rose gold ballet shoes.
Morgen created a Fall Festival where the bounce house was a HUGE hit. She also had Fall themed activity stations to keep the kiddos entertained. Trisha’s favorite part was a long toddler table and chairs for the kids to eat at.
This is the best age! It is non-stop and a lot at times, but overall it is the most fun Morgen & Trisha have ever had.

Morgen took her eyes off of Charlie for literally seconds to tend to Auggie’s pooey diaper, only to discover that Charlie was being returned by a father that saw her run off in those couple of seconds of wiping!
It made Morgen and Trisha realize that it’s never too soon to talk to the girls about stranger danger, but they’re three, so how do you go about making them aware without scaring them?
It starts with the basics, discussing their feelings and intuition, talking through personal space, so they don’t go up to strangers and finding ways that relate and make sense to a toddler. Oh, and repetition, repetition, repetition.
Morgen and Trisha both stumbled across an article on four easy steps to teaching children about the danger of strangers. It went over what to do in a situation when a child gets separated from you. Oh, and listen in for another article Trisha references. A mother taught her daughter a unique way of recognizing stranger danger that both Morgen and Trisha plan to teach Charlie and Remi!

Whether children are transitioning from home to school or changing classrooms within their school, changes can be stressful for kids. Morgen and Trisha both saw signs that Charlie and Remi were in a bit of distress with their school transitions, and they did their best to address it and try to help comfort them through it.
One of the most prominent signs was crying at drop-off, accidents after the girls had already been potty trained, and seeming uninterested in wanting to discuss what they had done at school.
The answer to all of it was having a little more involvement with the school and teachers. Morgen helped Charlie learn other students' names in her classroom while Trisha made the car ride up to school fun and engaging with conversation and sing-along songs.

Oh my gosh, how are Charlie and Remi 3 already?!? Morgen & Trisha discuss what they have planned. While Trisha is going super low-key, Morgen is doing a big 3rd bday bash. The big question is what time do they start the festivities since the girls still nap midday (which, p.s. thank goodness for that, mama needs a break to get stuff done).
Of course, having October babes means Fall-themed everything, which Trisha & Morgen love. Bring on the pumpkin painting, bouncy houses, pony rides, caramel apple-making bar, and so much more!!!

Does anyone have a two-going 12-year-old toddler where the tantrums are almost laughable/infuriating at times? It's a roller coaster ride, to say the least?!
Morgen and Trisha spill the beans on what Charlie's and Remi's tantrums are like. It's the whining that can drive Trisha's blood pressure sky high, especially in the car. The thorn in Morgen's side is when Charlie throws her things, especially since her water bottles and toys keep breaking.
Let's just say the eggshell walk is real. You are teetering on a very fine line, not knowing which side of the toddler reaction you will fall on today.
